Adam Milstein took some time to talk about his work with Ideamensch, a website that asks businessmen how they started their companies and what their workdays look like. Milstein got the idea for Hager Pacific Properties over 30 years ago when finishing graduate school. He felt commercial real estate brokering and investing while tricky was more rewarding than other jobs he saw at the time. He says perhaps his one regret wasn’t being patient back when he ran another business in art sales, but he learned from that about patience in investing and how staying patient in real estate is also key to making money. He’s the oldest of three sons and his parents both had moved to Israel shortly after the modern state was founded in 1948. He married Gila Elgrably in 1974 and raised three daughters. In the later years he and Gila started a family foundation and in addition to their active philanthropy they’ve promoted ancient Hebrew to families through Sifriyat Pijama B’America.
